If you have 10 minutes to prep and 30 minutes to cook, you have meals and snack for a week! This is one of my go-to meals, with a little twist… Turkey Meatball Surprise! What’s the surprise? ? ? ? BROCCOLI.  I saw @daphneoz make these on @rachaelrayshow but since i can’t be bothered to follow recipes, I just chopped a head of broccoli and added it to my typical meatball recipe. SO…. look it up with them OR… Make your favorite meatball recipe and add in finely chopped or riced b...

ONE OF MY TIPS FOR ATTAINING FOOD AND FITNESS BALANCE INSTEAD OF OBSESSION.

ONE OF MY TIPS FOR ATTAINING FOOD AND FITNESS BALANCE INSTEAD OF OBSESSION. ‼️NEWSFLASH. You cannot go full steam ahead everyday. You also will never eat perfectly everyday. How many of you feel like a failure if you’re workout isn’t “up to par?” How many of you struggle to do a lower intensity workout? To get the extra hour of sleep instead of a 4:30am workout? To take a rest day? To know a leisurely walk is ok as your only form of exercise for a day? To not throw in the towel after a “bad” mea...

IS THERE ROOM TO BE FIT AND A FOODIE IN THIS LIFE?

Is there room to be fit and be a foodie in this life?!? …On the contrary my friends. I think the ultimate fit person is one can eat fun foods sometimes and not have it derail them. Not have it consume them. Not have it make them instantly plot and plan how to make room for it, burn it off, or start a diet tomorrow while also, and most importantly not beating themselves up for it. I also think the socially defined “fit person” who allows none of these fun foods ever is not only a miserable...

THE TROUBLE WITH LABELS – Diet Edition

THE TROUBLE WITH LABELS… Diet edition. Gone are the days my podcast feed consisted of weight loss, fad diets, the best workouts, and cleanses. When I defined myself by my eating habits and body type. I recently started to label myself an intuitive eater with a twist. I used to label myself a lot of things: a competitive gymnast. Anorexic. Bulky. Manly. A scholar athlete. A college basketball player. A compulsive exerciser. An overeater.  A binge eater. A yo-yo dieter. A yes-girl. A teacher...

I CAN ONLY IMAGINE…

9:00 pm we started watching I CAN ONLY IMAGINE. Emotional AF. I was laying on my right side w my head on Dave and felt something toward my right side. I put my hand on it and questioned it a couple times. After not feeling it for a little bit, I sat up. I sat there bawling hard over the movie when he forgave his dad for his abusive childhood. When they made up. When he wrote in his journal- the dad I always wanted is finally here and he is leaving me–  I couldn’t stop crying. Dave too. The...

WHY DO YOU…?

WHY DO YOU… If you’re like me, you don’t really like to show your weaknesses. Who would?? Maybe you had a parent, coach or society teach you “no pain, no gain,” the mentality of always pushing through. Well I hate that saying. I hate that mentality. Life is hard enough, not everything calls for pushing through. And not pushing through doesn’t equate to failing. I woke up this morning envious. This happened many times lately actually. Envious of what?? RUNNERS. No, I am not a runner. Howeve...

LIFE THREATENING TO LIFE MAKING

11 is my number. Ever since I started playing basketball, 11 was my favorite. So much so, that to this day when I see 11:11 anywhere, instead of making wishes, I name at least one thing I am grateful for. Instant mood lift. Well every August, as the month nears its end, I am grateful to be here. Alive. See, 11 years ago this August, I was laying in a hospital bed being told by every nurse and doctor that walked in that I am very lucky to be alive. That I could have died at any moment. That’s bec...

FEEL GOOD FOOD RECIPE

If it felt good, I would eat carbs 24/7. Every meal would have carbs and maybe only carbs. Especially, being pregnant. However, I find that just carbs just doesn’t cut it for me most of the time. So, I had to figure out a way to get protein and fat in me too, and hide some veggies since they definitely dropped on my cravings list the last few months! I also had to find something quick and convenient because I am often eating it at work between, or even during, clients. Enter… My egg bake!...

Real Life Blog…

Want a real life blog? In case I haven’t been real enough with you yet, here it is. First of all, as I type this, I’m in pain. Not from a workout. Not from the human growing inside of me. Not emotional pain. Pain from a virus that is causing my throat, hands and feet to literally, burn. I’m fine as long as my baby is fine. That being said, being on my phone today doesn’t feel good. Walking doesn’t feel good. Washing dishes doesn’t feel good. So today’s real life means that after I post this blog...
